Join our dedicated overnight team as a Night Cleaner, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the park’s facilities. Starting approximately one hour after park closure, this fast-paced role involves thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing a variety of areas, including restaurants, kitchens, attraction venues, break rooms, retail stores, restrooms, administrative offices, and warehouse buildings. Working both independently and collaboratively with team members, you’ll demonstrate accountability, attention to detail, and efficiency to uphold the highest cleanliness standards. Your efforts will ensure a pristine and welcoming environment for guests and employees to enjoy each day.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for thoroughly cleaning the restaurants/kitchens, which includes stocking the towel and soap dispensers in the sanitary stations; sweeping, mopping floors with degreaser and after mopping hosing down the kitchen floors; remove the mats for cleaning; and detailing the walls, light fixtures (including fans), doors, counters, restaurant signs, and serving areas. Scrub, strip and wax floors as assigned.
Empty all trashcans in the restaurants/kitchens, attraction venues, retail stores, break rooms, restrooms, administrative buildings and warehouses. Remove the trashcan liners for cleaning or replace the liners, and compact the trash.
Vacuum/sweep and mop floors in the attraction venues, retail stores, break rooms, administrative buildings and warehouse and when assigned scrub, strip and wax floors.
Dusting furniture, light fixtures, handrails, props, etc. and removing gum and cleaning carpets in the attraction venues.
Responsible for thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the restrooms which includes wiping mirrors and countertops, sweeping and mopping/scrubbing floors, scrubbing toilet bowls and urinals, etc. Removing any graffiti from walls and bathroom stalls. Stocking and filling paper towels, toilet paper, cover seats, air freshener, and soap dispensers/containers.
Promotes and provides extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests; answers questions and offers information in a courteous manner. Seeks to provide assistance to guests.
Understand and demonstrate the proper use of safety practices and ensure department standards are maintained and safety policies for the Park are upheld.
Monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests of all ages, following all company guidelines and protocols.
Identify, de-escalate, and resolve conflicts or disturbances professionally and effectively to maintain a positive atmosphere.
Provide a positive and welcoming experience for guests of all ages while maintaining composure during difficult interactions.
Maintain a high level of trust and integrity to promote a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues of all ages.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years old or older
Must be able to work overnight shifts

Job Demands:

Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs with assistance
The noise level is generally moderate to high
Team Members are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather. Depending on the assigned location, work can be almost exclusively outdoors

Schedule:

Must be available to work at least 4 days per week throughout the peak seasons to include a rotation of mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay:

$18.50 per hour

[Ariel] The Universal Creative internship program is full of extraordinary opportunities for interns to gain hands-on work experience. [Jeff] Ever since I was a little kid, I always wanted to take part in designing spaces that creates some of the fondest memories for people. [Griffin] The idea of blending technology, engineering, and storytelling really spoke out to me. And I wanted to be an environment where I could learn for those who really know what they're doing. [Ariel] I looked and the job description was amazing. It was literally everything that I've ever wanted out of an internship. [Ana] Some of the cool things that I've been able to do is see a lot of behind the scenes about how the park is run, and just envisioning the future worlds of tomorrow. It's been a really cool experience just to see what's coming up. [Carey] I've done some really cool attraction walkthroughs. I've got to walk through Hulk and Kong Skull Island and Forbidden Journey, and those were really incredible experiences. [Griffin] I think the cool thing about the Universal Creative internship is, you have a lot of opportunities to work with others and do what you want to do. [Jeff] I never expected any sort of company to be like this. [Emily] I really feel like I can be myself here. Everyone's been so opening and welcome. I don't have to put on a mask. I don't have to be somebody that I'm not. I can just be my genuine, authentic self. [Carey] I would say the culture at Creative is really a community and teamwork based. [Ariel] Everyone's so invested into the interns, and that's something unique. [Ana] You can ask a question and you'll always get an answer. [Tyler] Everyone's always happy and I'm willing to help you out when you're trying to learn something new, or you don't know how to do something. [Griffin] And as a student, it's very important to get that career guidance as you go on through more classes, and it's been a really great opportunity to get that in a very open environment. [Carey] For future interns, I would just say network and learn as much as you can. It's a really incredible opportunity and everyone wants to help you out. [Emily] Embrace your time here. Take advantage of your time here because it goes by so fast. [Ana] There's no such thing as you're only doing one job here. [Griffin] You have a lot of opportunities to go outside of your scope of work as an intern. So use it as an opportunity to absorb everything like a sponge. [Ana] Join the Universal Creative team.
